Esta manhã fui despertado com o telefone tocando. Era a ex-mulher de um irmão e amigo me avisando que ele haviafalecido nesta noite passada, dia 22 de novembro de 2002.

No entanto, o que isso tem a ver com música cristã? Eu explico.


Esse rapaz se converteu a uns nove anos. Um dia após a sua conversão, o pastor da igreja dele lhe disse que devia começar a trabalhar. Disse que na igreja, uma vez fichado (assinada a carteira), começa o trabalho. Meu amigo vinha das drogas e alcool. Não passou por nenhum processo de discipulado. Não lhe deram nenhuma base doutrinária. Apenas disseram que ele devia começar a trabalhar, uma vez que tinha sido salvo por Cristo.

Foi o que ele fez. Era cantor e resolveu no seu primeiro ano de convertido gravar um LP (na época). Foi quando o conheci, com seu LP. Era um neófito sofrendo todos ataques naturais a quem trilha esse caminho, e enfrentando todas as dificuldades de quem ainda está começando a vida cristã, mas era visto pelos demais como se fosse um crente maduro, pois havia gravado um disco.

Vieram outros discos e por fim o apoio muito efetivo a um candidato político, também evangêlico. Foi o início do fim para a vida espiritual dele. As coisas com as quais ele se escandalizava entre os candidatos evangêlicos e demais membros do partido, o deixaram com o pensamento de que santidade era uma palavra desnecessária. Não apenas desnecessária, mas imprópria para quem queria ser um político no Brasil. Me lembro dele ligando para mim e dizendo que o pessoal mentia muito, mas que eles disseram que não era pecado, pois fazia parte do processo. Disseram que havia mentiras que não eram pecado.


Por fim, em um desses encontros com pastores, en função da campanha, ele foi convidado por um pastor a beber uma inofensiva cerveja. Não sei se o pastor sabia que estava hamando para tomar uma cerveja, uma pessoa que havia sido iberta das drogas. A idéia de que não havia problema em mentir, em beber etc o levou ao retorno a bebida e as drogas. erminava assim sua carreira como cantor. Se tornou o assunto do momento por ter "caído". Não me lembro de alguém o rocurando para ajudar. Todos apenas se ocupavam de dizer que ão tinham qualquer relação com ele, pois, afinal, havia aído. Sua carreira musical, que ia bem, acabou. Sem convites ara cantar, sem venda de discos, ele desapareceu de Brasília.

Certo dia, me ligou de Morrinhos, cidade do interior de Goiás. Foi quando me falou tudo que contei sobre sua queda. Dizia que estava se reconciliando com Deus e buscando estauração. Voltou para Brasília, mas não se envolveu com a música novamente. Foi trabalhar em uma imobiliária e requentava uma igreja batista independente.

Fiquei alguns anos sem notícia dele. Recentemente ele me liga novamente. Falava do hospital. Disse que estava recebendo alta. Disse também que descobriu ter diabetes, havia perdido parte da visão, havia feito um transplante e quase havia morrido. O motivo de sua piora de saúde havia
sido se "desviar". As drogas deram causa a tudo isso. Agora, ovamente ele se dizia reconciliado com Deus. Estava com uma nova esposa e queria gravar um novo disco e voltar a cantar. e pediu várias informações e só me ligou depois de algumas semanas para dizer que já estava com o disco na mão. Me pediu que o indicasse para cantar em algumas igrejas.

Ele ficou de me visitar em minha casa. Eu sabia que, egundo ele mesmo, havia se reconciliado com Deus, mas queria, como de tantas outras vezes, lhe falar sobre a necessidade dele buscar maturidade cristã, priorizar seu crescimento espiritual na Palavra, oração, comunão etc. No entanto, hoje a tarde será o seu enterro. O CD realmente ficou pronto, mas ele não poderá cantar suas músicas.

Essa é apenas a história de um dos que chegaram para igreja e porque tinha algum talento musical, entrou direto no ministério da musica, o qual se apresenta e se desenvolve de várias formas. Talento musical, realmente ele tinha. aturidade cristã, ele nunca chegou a ter.

Que o Senhor nos guarde de sermos cumplices ou co-partícipes de histórias como essa. Se aquele que se converteu tem talento musical, maravilha! Mas, com certesa, ara que ele possa entender o que significa usar esse talento para o louvor de Cristo, terá que passar por um processo de iscipulado, o qual é indispensável para sua vida cristã. Do contrário, ele será facilmente abatido pelo inimigo de nossas
almas. Seu talento musical nada poderá lhe valer diante das rmadilhas do inimigo.
