Concordo com o Válter Júnior em seu artigo “Pra não perder a comunhão por causa do segundo turno das eleições”. Todo cuidado é pouco para nos mantermos sóbrios e não deixarmos que as preferências pessoais se sobreponham ao nosso relacionamento como irmãos. Particularmente, tenho minhas preferências políticas, assim como tenho meu time de futebol preferido, minha cor preferida, meu carro preferido, meu médico preferido. E nem por isso devo desprezar aquele que pensa diferente de mim, que prefere outro candidato diferente do meu.

Mas queria adicionar algo que considero importante. Nestes tempos, é comum que nós os cristão sejamos tratados como “pacotes de votos”. E os políticos em busca desses pacotes de votos, falam o que desejamos ouvir. Mais do que isso: usam nossa característica de mansidão e de cultivo de valores cristãos (que eles consideram como "ingenuidade") para plantar "boatos" sobre os adversários, para plantar "bondades" e "características louváveis" em suas próprias figuras sorridentes. Aparecem até lendo a Bíblia, participando de eventos cristãos (e de outras religiões), assinando cartas de intenções... Tudo em busca do “pacote de votos dos crentes”. Usam mídias de massa, como a democrática Internet para aterrorizar, mentir, fantasiar e tentar a todo custo ludibriar o povo de Deus.

Infelizmente, temos ainda líderes, falsos profetas sim, que se apegam aos políticos, em busca de interesses que nem quero especular, e que colaboram nessas gigantescas farsas eleitorais. Vão a púlpito defender uns e difamar outros, em detrimento de exercer seu papel de sacerdócio com dignidade. Manipulam a boa fé dos seus congregados, sem o mínimo escrúpulo cristão. Raça de víboras!


Estamos numa caminhada. Precisamos aprender a lidar com tudo isso, com os assédios do mundo sobre a Igreja na batalha por seus próprios interesses mundanos. Mas acreditar em tudo que se lê, que se ouve, que se vê, certamente não é um bom caminho.


Uma receita para votar bem? Desculpem-me, mas não tenho e não creio que ela exista. Como eleitor individual, preciso avaliar o passado, a estrutura ideológica e política que sustenta o candidato, o que realmente foi feito (e não o que me dizem que foi feito), e escolher aquele que acredito que vá fazer melhor uso do poder e dos recursos públicos em favor da população como um todo, especialmente dos menos capacitados a se defender da injustiça social. Isso é cristão!


Não votar, anular o voto, votar em branco, lavar as mãos também não é cristão. Precisamos participar com consciência e não apenas deixar que outros decidam por nós. Certamente, não existem políticos perfeitos. São homens, pecadores, mas têm sua autoridade permitida por Deus (Romanos 13:1), que deles cobrará pelo desempenho como representantes do povo.

Sobre os que provocam divisões no povo de Deus: “E rogo-vos, irmãos, que noteis os que promovem dissensões e escândalos contra a doutrina que aprendestes; desviai-vos deles.” (Romanos 16:17)


Que a nossa comunhão não seja quebrada no segundo turno. Que ajamos com serenidade, tranqüilidade e principalmente, pela nossa própria consciência, sem a influência dos ventos da política.
