Acho que estaremos mais divididos ao final dessa eleição para presidente do que já estivemos antes.

Tenho um desafio pessoal e diário de distinguir as pessoas de suas idéias e forma de pensar. É um desafio difícil. Posso discordar da forma de pensar de alguém, mas quero continuar com meu compromisso de amor, com meu empenho pelo bem de quem pensa diferente de mim.

No entanto nossa sociedade interpreta que se discordo do pensamento de alguém, tenho que combater a pessoa para demonstrar que me oponho a suas idéias. Assim, se ela tiver sede, não darei água. Se ela tiver fome, não compartilharei meu pão. Tal atitude pode ser muita coisa, mas não é amor. destruir a pessoa junto com o argumento dela seria algo como matar o doente para dar fim a sua doença.

Certos níveis de injustiça levarão o defensor da idéia a algum tipo de condenação, de modo que a pessoa será punida por suas idéias. Se alguém é a favor da escravidão, responderá por isso. Se eu conhecer alguém assim, não vou me associar a ele no seu erro, mas se puder lhe fazer bem, farei. Talvez não consiga mudar sua forma de pensar, pela qual tal pessoa vai responder diante da sociedade, mas o compromisso de amor permanece.

Para quase tudo existem exceções. Se me empenhar pelo bem de alguém implica em me destruir, sei que um sacrifício de amor assim se trata de um evento extremo. No dia a dia, não nos deparamos com situações assim a toda hora.

Penso em tudo isso, pois em tempos de eleições falamos de idéias principalmente, já que os candidatos só vão implementá-las após eleitos. E existe muita intolerância quanto a discordâncias. Se apoio o candidato, sou aceito. Se rejeito, sou rejeitado. Mas não estou apoiando a pessoa e sim suas idéias. O problema é que dificilmente encontraremos um candidato que apresente propostas com as quais concordemos totalmente. Concordamos com algumas, discordamos de outras. Mas queremos escolher um candidato.

Difícil escolher e conviver com as consequências da escolha que indica que preferimos um a outro em função do conjunto de suas propostas. Podemos perder amizades, estremecer relacionamentos, comprometer a comunhão por isso. E se amanhã eu for visto cooperando com algum bom projeto do candidato em quem não votei, ouvirei fortes críticas.

Se sou PT ou PSDB? Sou discípulo de Jesus por concordar integralmente com a mensagem de Jesus. Quanto aos partidos atuais, passados e futuros, estes apresentam suas propostas com as quais concordo em parte, mas dificilmente no todo. Afinal os partidos achariam absurdo algo que se aproximasse de um sacrifício de amor como o de Cristo para orientar seus projetos.

Sou portanto de Cristo, cristão, discípulo de Cristo. No mais quanto aos partidos e candidatos, os que se aproximarem mais dos valores e princípios da Palavra de Deus terão a minha preferência. Meu compromisso de amor cristão, no entanto, é para com todos. Não me associarei a ninguém para errar, mas se eu puder ser bênção, quero. Jesus foi criticado por comer com pecadores. Ele comia com os pecadores sem no entanto, pecar com eles. Alguns o seguiram, outros não.

Deus nos ajude nesse tempo em que nosso compromisso de amor é testado, pois saberão que somos discípulos de Jesus se nos amarmos uns aos outros.

Já contabilizei algumas pessoas que me eram simpáticas e que depois que me perguntaram em que eu ia votar, se decepcionaram com minha escolha e se afastaram de mim.

Se o amor que temos uns pelos outros não possibilitar que permaneçamos juntos apesar de nossas diferenças, seria o nosso compromisso e aliança uns com outros firmado mesmo em amor?

As eleições vão passar como tantas já passaram, mas a igreja de Cristo vai prosseguir unida em amor, graças a Deus!
